Las alteraciones del sistema nervioso es la afectación más penetrante que presenta está condición con una reducción de la memoria y afectación de las funciones ejecutivas entre otras característica. En el síndrome de Down se ha descripto la reducción del tamaño de regiones anatómicas tales como la corteza cerebral, el hipocampo y el cerebelo asociada a una hipocelularidad a nivel histológico. Además, se ha observado cambios en el número y función de los neuroprogenitores como así también en el fenotipo y función de las neuronas. Por otro lado, los individuos con síndrome de Down casi inevitablemente van a desarrollar Alzheimer de inicio precoz. > Como un hilo conductual, en el cromosoma 21 se encuentra el gen que codifica la proteína precursora de amiloide (APP), cuya función no se encuentra completamente develada, pero se ha descripto que tiene un rol fundamental durante el neurodesarrollo. Por otro lado, APP es la fuente del fragmento del amiloide beta, el cual conforma los oligómeros y las placas de amiloide beta, central en la teoría actual de la patogénesis de la enfermedad de Alzheimer junto con los ovillos neurofibrilares de tau fosforilado; constituyendo ambos hallmarks de la enfermedad de Alzheimer. > En este contexto utilizando un panel células madres síndrome de Down isogénicas, en las cuales se ha reducido la expresión de APP mediante edición genética, se intentan conocer en el síndrome de Down los efectos de la dosis genética APP durante el neurodesarrollo, haciendo foco en la diferenciación de neuroprogenitores hacia neuronas y en el fenotipo de estas neuronas. Estimados docentes: De acuerdo a la RHCD-2023-1072-E-UNC-DEC#FCQ del Calendario Académico 2024 dice: ARTÍCULO 3º: Establecer el receso de invierno entre el 15/07/2024 y el 19/07/2024. Los docentes que *NO HAGAN USO* del Receso de Invierno, les pedimos que avisen por correo a alejandra.andraos(a)unc.edu.ar y a ines.rodriguez(a)unc.edu.ar. *Aclaración:* El receso se lo pueden tomar únicamente en esa semana. *NO *es acumulable con otras licencias para tomárselo más adelante.
